The Travel Marketing Awards hosted by Mumbrella took place in Sydney yesterday and Cheetah Digital by Marigold took home gold for Social Idea of the Year alongside FCB Auckland for the Chicago Dibs campaign for Air New Zealand.
The awards, which are Australia’s only dedicated travel marketing awards, celebrate the best work in Australia and New Zealand created by travel marketers. More than 250 people attend the gala dinner, from agencies, brands, media and creative companies, making the awards night one not to be missed if you work in the travel industry.
We were thrilled to pick up the award for Social Idea of the Year for the work we did alongside FCB Auckland for Air New Zealand. The campaign was to promote the new direct flight route from Auckland to Chicago. Air New Zealand used Marigold Grow to launch a memorable, engaging experience for travelers to get involved with through their website, Instagram, and Facebook page. Using the idea of an age-old tradition in Chicago, Kiwis could “dibs” their own seat to Chicago, choosing a figurine that represented various cultural interest points around Chicago.
The campaign had some great results and we are really pleased we got to share it with the Mumbrella audience. Huge congratulations to Air New Zealand and FCB Auckland and here is to many more awesome campaigns together. Visit the awards page to check out the full list of winners for 2019.
